The diagnostic techniques for simultaneous velocity and relative OH distribution, simultaneous temperature and relative OH distribution, and three component velocity mapping are described. The data extracted from the measurements include statistical moments for inflow fluid dynamics, temperature, conditional velocities, and scalar flux. The work is a first step in the development of a detailed large eddy simulation (LES) validation database for a turbulent, premixed flame. The low-swirl burner used in this investigation has many of the necessary attributes for LES model validation, including a simplified interior geometry; it operates well into the thin reaction zone for turbulent premixed flames, and flame stabilization is based entirely on the flow field and not on hardware or pilot flames.

L'entité ? pré-fibrose ?, décrite depuis plusieurs années comme distincte de la myélofibrose primitive avec myélofibrose franche, fait son entrée dans la version la plus récente de ces classifications, publiée en 2016. La place de la biopsie dans le diagnostic de maladie de Vaquez est également renforcée. Des comités de relecture regroupant des hémato-pathologistes se mettent en place afin d'améliorer la reproductibilité des critères histologiques.

The diagnostic system of TEXTOR comprises about 50 individual diagnostic devices. Since the start of the Trilateral Euregio Cluster collaboration, part of the emphasis in the experimental program has shifted toward the study of physics processes in the plasma core. To aid these studies several new and advanced core diagnostics have been implemented, whereas a number of other core diagnostics have been upgraded to higher resolution, more channels, and better accuracy. In this paper a brief overview is given of the present set of plasma core diagnostics at TEXTOR.

The diagnostic tool of optical emission spectroscopy with applications to molecular low pressure plasmas is introduced and the underlying principles for the analysis of molecular radiation are summarized. Results for rotational, vibrational and electronic population densities in electronically excited states and in the ground state of diatomic molecules such as hydrogen and nitrogen are shown. Besides molecular densities atomic densities are obtained and the relevance of opacity of resonance lines in the analysis is discussed. In more complex plasmas such as hydrocarbon plasmas, the radiation of radicals is used to determine particle densities. Here, the contribution of the dissociative excitation mechanism has to be taken into account. A simple monitoring tool for the determination of particle density ratios is emphasized based on the measurement of intensity ratios. Results are presented for plasma applications with volume processes as well as with plasma surface interaction.

At the completion of the National Ignition Campaign (NIC), the National Ignition Facility (NIF) had about 36 different types of diagnostics. These were based on several decades of development on Nova and OMEGA and involved the whole U.S. inertial confinement fusion community. In 1994, the Joint Central Diagnostic Team documented a plan for a limited set of NIF diagnostics in the NIF Conceptual Design Report. Two decades later, these diagnostics, and many others, were installed workhorse tools for all users of NIF. We give a short description of each of the 36 different types of NIC diagnostics grouped by the function of the diagnostics, namely, target drive, target response and target assembly, stagnation, and burn. A comparison of NIF diagnostics with the Nova diagnostics shows that the NIF diagnostic capability is broadly equivalent to that of Nova in 1999. Although NIF diagnostics have a much greater degree of automation and rigor than Nova's, new diagnostics are limited such as the higher-speed X-ray imager. Recommendations for future diagnostics on the NIF are discussed.

In the present study we collected 177 serum samples from ostriches (Struthio camelus) infected experimentally with A/ostrich/South Africa/Middleton/2004 (H5N2) highly pathogenic avian influenza virus. We tested these samples using the haemagglutination inhibition (HI) test, the agar gel immunodiffusion test and three enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay kits. We considered the HI test, with homologous antigen and including pre-treatment of sera with 10% chicken red blood cells, as the gold standard. Detectable specific antibodies appeared on day 7 post-infection and persisted until the termination of the experiment. The relative sensitivity and specificity of the tests under evaluation and Cohen's K value were calculated. The results reported herein could be of assistance to decision-makers in drafting guidelines for the definition of the health status of ostriches and for trade purposes.
