This paper presents the insect species, their relative abundance and activity on, and their potential as possible biological control agents of <i>Psittacanthus calyculatus</i>, a parasitic plant of mesquite (<i>Prosopis laevigata</i>), in Mexico. These species of insects include <i>Nipaecoccus</i> spp., <i>Parthenolecanium</i> sp., <i>Ceroplastes destructor, Kermes grandis, Membracis mexicana, Asiphonaphis</i> sp., <i>Sternomacra marginella, Atta mexicana, Scirtothrips</i> sp., <i>Atlides halesus, Hesperocharis crocea, Epermenia</i> spp., and <i>Smicraulax tuberculatus</i>.
