Sino-Indian relations has always been a bustling topic since the establishment of The People’s Republic of China and the independence of India.Any developments between Elephant and Dragon, whether be it their never-ending border disputes or bilateral relations are viewed from a global platform, therefore,it becomes necessary to sought the conflicts within not leaving chance for external powers to benefit from it.Presently, the hostile-engagement at Line of Actual Control(LAC),has somewhere depreciated the ongoing‘New Era of Cooperation’between Sino-India and,in this situation via Quadrilateral Security Dialogue(QSD or Quad)India offering stern equation with US,allowing foreign influence into the Indo-Pacific region, where China has economic interests enlarges the room for absolute possibility of vital conflict between the two.
Quad is an informal strategic dialogue between India, the USA,Japan and Australia that aims to ensure and support a“free, open and prosperous”Indo-Pacific region.Unlike, its previous goal i.e.,to limit China’s assertiveness in the region,Quad2.0stands as a multi-discipline aiming to develop the Indo-pacific while focusing on other global and humanitarian issues and many more.Quad enlarging its dimensions for cooperation in other neighbouring countries of the Indo-pacific region with‘Quad-plus’initiative,expects larger growth of the Indo-pacific region. Thus,in this situation, whether via joining the‘Quad-plus’China will want to be a part of regional cooperation adding benefits mutually instead of enlarging rifts between is one of the dilemma the author looks forward to address in this paper. In addition,if Quad countries decides to take tougher stand it can prove a dilemma for India too,as it has always kept itself away of any efforts that focuses on militarizing the Quad as an anti-China grouping. The author suggests, clash of perception between China and India as a major player, shaping their relations and thus would like to address it in this research.
The author in this research uses Neo-liberalism theory to analyse possible cooperation under anarchical conditions, and Neo-realism theory as its core concept of security also fits the research arena. The author believes that these two theories together will make a complementary contribution to the issue area by addressing and emphasizing different factors to bring fruitful outcomes i.e.,to boost healthy relation between Sino-India.
