There has been much recent work in IEEE 802.3an, TIA TR42.7, and other standards groups to quantify channel capacity of unshielded twisted pair (UTP) media. While internal transmission impairments of UTP media such as Return Loss (RL), Near End CrossTalk (NEXT), and Far End CrossTalk (FEXT) are substantially cancelable with digital signal processing (DSP), alien crosstalk (PSANEXT and PSAELFEXT) remains a limiting factor for channel capacity. Many technical contributions have examined cable or connector alien crosstalk but few have quantified the channel alien crosstalk in installed cabling. This paper will present the results of alien crosstalk field testing in three installation sites. The sites utilize different vendor components for Category 6 rated solutions. Testing and analysis associated with this paper can support the standardization efforts in IEEE and TIA.

A knee voltage was improved from 0.75 to 0.48 V by utilizing alternative low work-function material of poly-Si as an anode electrode. Also, reverse breakdown voltage was improved from 901 V to 1,154 V. SiC TSBS with poly-Si/Ni dual Schottky scheme is a suitable structure for high-efficiency rectification and high-temperature operation.

With the rapid development of self-help tourism, the information needs have features such as wide-range, large-scale, and timely, and furthermore the need for managing distributed systems and providing seamless service is prominent in Self-help Tourism Information System (SHTIS). SOA can potentially address those needs and provide an application architecture for the interaction of existing and new distributed systems in SHTIS. Based on SOA, a framework of SHTIS is realized with Web Services Technology. This framework has achieved service management, service scheduling and integration by Tourism Service Bus (TSB). The framework fully reflects the loose coupling of SOA, the openness and standardization of Web Services. Overall, the framework addresses the complexity of the integration and interaction of heterogeneous systems in SHTIS, and may extend into other areas such as E-Commerce, E-Healthcare and E-Government areas.

Temperature rise of copper twisted-pair cables carrying next generation Power over Ethernet has been the subject of extensive research. Standards groups, testing organizations, and industry experts have been studying and testing this effect in order to ensure safety and performance. This paper details how installation practices and physical routing of cables carrying Power over Ethernet can impact the temperature rise of those cables. A large, well-organized hexagonal bundle (Figure 1) of cables can reach unsafe temperatures when carrying the maximum amount of power. Different geometries, such as a tray installation (Figure 2), will experience different temperature rises. Test scenarios will vary from very organized bundles that approach the worst-case to randomized groupings of cables that approach a best-case. An examination of the placement of the same cables in different geometric configurations, which are related to various pathway types, will show the difference in temperature rise that occurs and compare these results to testing performed using bundles. Even slight differences in layout and test method can have a significant impact to the overall temperature rise of the cables. Finally, the paper will make recommendations for selecting and designing installation methods and pathways for next generation Power over Ethernet systems.

Unfortunately, non-invasive technique is more convenient and reliable compared to invasive technique. This paper is to give a basic overview about the invasive and non-invasive measurement in jaundice to the reader. Current technology and new method of non-invasive jaundice measurement also included in this paper.
