This paper offers some reflections on the dynamics of globalization, competition, networking and collective decision making in relation with human systems in general and with collective decision making in particular. Globalization and competition are closely connected to one another and their interaction fosters worldwide networking among companies, organizations, and governments. This considerably changes and influences the nature of group dynamics of stakeholders and the interrelationships among themselves. The most important of all is the way decisions are made. What is needed most now is a process of consensual decision making in order to reflect the values and interests of all those stakeholders who are involved in, implicated or affected by such a process. Although the interaction between globalization, competition, and networking will be discussed in some detail, the emphasis will be on collective and consensual decision making. The paper concludes by suggesting a framework for a research agenda.

When did all of this prattle about globalization start and why are the perspectives so profoundly different? Why might it seem that many of these diverging viewpoints are frequently driven by globally untested scholars and practitioners alike? What is globalization and how do we best teach this important idea with integrity and objectivity - particularly to the entrepreneur? This paper provides a framework aimed at minimizing scholarly and journalistic bias while also maximizing the entrepreneur's strategic intent to globalize their firm. Broadly, the paper is an exercise in consolidation of the multitude of ideas contained in the contextual, theoretical and strategic application of globalization. The target reader is the teacher of globalization and the practitioner of enterprise in the global marketplace. At its core, the paper is meant to be insightful to both new and seasoned readers of the topic of globalization as well as instructive to anyone interested in, responsible for, and accountable to globalization - its meaning, methods and consequences. The paper ascends in three stages. Stage one frames the historical context addressing the question - what is globalization? Stage two clarifies the often missing and misguided theoretical framework addressing the question - what explains the rationale for globalization? Stage three solidifies the entrepreneur's strategic portfolio addressing the question - how to best compete in the market dominated by globalization? The industrious reader might ask, 'these questions have been answered before, have they not?' Perhaps, but the swell of disjointed, transdisciplinary, normative academic and journalistic literature leaves the serious thinker with a distorted tool kit by which to understand and practice this widely claimed concept. The paper concludes with a reflection on why a consolidation can be helpful to the entrepreneur by explaining not what globalization ought to be, but what it is.

Purpose-The purpose of this paper is to explore the concept of Global Education (GE) from a "theory of action plan" and an "evolutionary and systems theory" approach as an educational perspective to cope with globalisation-more specifically, the challenges of globalisation. Moreover, an additional aim is to analyse the linkages of GE according to global society, global citizenship and transformative learning concepts. Design/methodology/approach-The analysis is based on a literature review regarding the challenges of globalisation combined with the theoretical pattern of GE separated into the following dimensions: objective/issues, temporal, spatial and social based on Lang-Wojtasik (2012), which will be further complemented with approaches from Selby and Rathenow (2006). Findings-GE is an educational perspective to cope with globalisation in consideration of different definitions and approaches of GE. The methods of GE, such as promoting a holistic view on the world, are designed based on the challenges of globalisation and, as a result, GE can provide perspectives for coping with globalisation. Originality/value-The challenges of globalisation are more and more noticeable in daily life. Therefore, it seems meaningful to the authors to resume an educational concept dealing with these challenges.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to explore global brands, global consumer culture (GCC) and globalization, and offers a thesis in line with Steenkamp (2019) regarding the world's continued move toward greater integration. Design/methodology/approach The study examines the three concepts articulated by Steenkamp (2019): global brands, GCC and globalization. Findings Globalization is often thought of as a necessary condition for the existence of global brands and GCC. However, global brands existed long before the transition toward an increasingly integrated world. Further, global branding is related to the development of GCC as an intermarket segment. The paper also highlights the absence of an operational definition for global brands and the overemphasis on consumer brands as the drivers of much of the research in global branding and GCC. Originality/value The paper offers a different perspective on the GCC phenomenon, and identifies new avenues for future research.

Purpose-The purpose of this paper is to analyze the impact of globalization on the formation of a global political system. Design/methodology/approach-Taking into account the fact of global political evolution, the authors of the paper point out that the global political structures tend to change. Findings - During the past millennium the global political architecture has changed greatly from a state of low degree of cohesion and a simple structure to a fairly high level of unity and strong structure of today. Moreover, this development of the global political order was not just a simple change in the system of social relations, but also a directed search for such forms of organization that will be acceptable for a growing population. Research limitations/implications-The authors examine the development of a political system changing from the world phase to the global era. The paper aims to deepen the understanding of global political processes. Practical implications-The results of the research can be used as recommendations for state governments to strengthen the position of civil society and political institutions within a certain country. Originality/value-The development of a global political order was evolutionary in the sense that it took place as a "natural" process of "trial and error" (it can be viewed as a phenomenon of the deployment of evolution), which does not require the postulation of a general plan or focus. Political globalization is closely connected with the process of informatization. The global political system makes it easier to use information technologies as an instrument of political pressure.

Meeting of COP-15 countries the countries which signed the Climate Change Agreement in Rio de Janeiro was held in the capital of Danemark, in December 2009. There was not a real breakthrough at the conference while there is not an approved agreement about decreasing of quotes after 2012. During the meeting, civil organizations held more than 200 demonstrations in the city. Their goal was to highlight that beyond to the climate change the most burning global problems of the 21th century are poverty, unfair trade, and their impacts, dependency.

Over the past 20 years, there has been increased interest in global forms of employment. Researchers have identified and investigated a number of global work experiences, including corporate and self-initiated expatriates as well as more novel forms of corporate global employees (flexpatriates, short-term assignees, and international business travelers). In this article, the authors review the empirical research that has investigated individual choices, challenges, and career consequences associated with the various types of global work. They summarize and synthesize this growing body of literature and then develop a taxonomy of global work experiences. Based on their review of this literature and their taxonomy, the authors outline an agenda for future research on global work experiences.

The leading mode of the global sea surface temperature anomaly (SSTA) on the interannual time scale is a quasi-quadrennial oscillation mode, corresponding to the El Ni?o-Southern Oscillation cycle. Using observational data diagnosis and numerical simulations, we show that the global SSTA during the quadrennial cycle has significant impacts on the anomaly of diabatic heating over the Tibetan Plateau (TP) in summer. Idealized atmospheric general circulation model (AGCM) experiments forced by the global SSTA with and without the thermal forcing of the TP diabatic heating anomaly reveal the relative contributions of the SSTA direct effect and the TP feedback to the anomalous response of the East Asian summer monsoon (EASM). During the quadrennial oscillation, in the developing year summer, the diabatic heating weakens over the whole TP, inducing suppressed EASM precipitation accompanied by an anomalous cyclone over the northwestern Pacific and an anticyclone in North China. In the decaying year summer, the TP heating, characterized by an anomalous negative-positive pattern, induces an anomalous anticyclone in South China and an anomalous cyclone in North China. However, without the anomalous TP thermal forcing, in both developing and decaying years the EASM shows similar response patterns with an anomalous anticyclone over the northwestern Pacific, an anomalous cyclone in North China, and an enhanced main rainfall band. Therefore, the TP thermal feedback plays a key role in the asymmetric responses of the EASM to the global SSTA during the different stages, characterized by suppressed precipitation in developing years and an enhanced main rainfall band in decaying years.

In an attempt to examine Eurasian globalization historically, this paper outlines three phases of globalization starting from 200 BCE to 1492 CE as Phase 1 and 1500 CE to 1999 CE as Phase 2 and from 2000 CE Phase 3. By historicizing the concept and the process of globalization, the paper attempts to provide a more global rather than a Europe-centred history of globalization and modernization. The paper builds on the idea of Eurasia and offers a new perspective of Eurasian globalization by pivoting on China's role in both Phase 1 and Phase 3 of globalization. The paper uses historical literature that has been not only critical of the Eurocentric view of the world but also provides a more connected view of global history. Concurring with Steger and James [2019. Globalization matters. Cambridge University Press] that globalization has not outlived its utility, the paper seeks to historicize and globalize the discussion of globalization.

Globalization is a centuries-old phenomenon. In pinpointing its contemporary meaning, however, globalization can be thought of as inseparable from the intricate and varied prisms of a neoliberal plurality-the 'neoliberalisms' of the world. For, even in a world dominated by economic volatility, both neoliberalism and globalization have been shown to transcend ethnic borders, lines of communication, and languages by bringing commerce and culture closer together. Global cinema, argued in this essay, is a way to comprehend this transcendence of the national. It is perceived as a positive concept that diminishes the neoliberal 'scale' of marketing campaigns, namely world literature and world cinema, implicating all things in its cultural web of non-Western production. While previous linguistic-political rephrasing of 'the world' to 'the global' has been tied to the pathbreaking research conducted by literary scholar Shu-mei Shih, sociologist Saskia Sassen, and film scholar Dudley Andrew, my usage of the global is also novel in two ways. First, it tames national cinema's depictions of its own home-grown social mores by showing its outwardness globally, yet simultaneously implies a regional scaling of pressing national issues such as poverty, labor woes, armed conflict, and health concerns; and second, global cinema acknowledges not a world of difference beyond the West, but a reflexivity to the world that is globally integrated by market forces and interethnic convergences that exists between the Global South and Global North axial divide.
