And, this may be the reason hehind th... 展开 Though India happens to be the number one milk-producing country in the world, yet the bitter truth is that dairying is still not being perceived as the "primary occupation' of/by our farmers. And, this may be the reason hehind their low/poor levelof awareness about recent advances in the field of dairying. A study was conducted of Birchpur village of Karnal district, in Haryana State. For this purpose, there were in all 244 respondents covered under this study, it was observed that majority of the respondents belonged to "low level" category, as far as level of their knowledge and adoption (regarding scientific dairy husbandry practicres) were concerned. The overall extent of knowledge and adoption happened to be maximum in case of "feeding" practices, and minimum in case of "fodder production" and health-care" practices, respectively. Besides, the respondents were of the view that they should be provided with "training" in the field of dairying, in general; but particularly in the areas of "health-Care" and "breeding" aspects, to start with. 收起
