The efficacy of integrated control methods against H. armigera on chickpea (cv. Udai) was evaluated in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India, during the rabi of 2008-09. The components of the following treatments were sprayed alternately: novaluron-Btk [Bacillus thuringiensis serovar. kurstaki]-cypermethrin (T1), novaluron-cypermethrin-Btk (T2), cypermethrin-novaluron-Btk (T3), and Btk-cypermethrin-novaluron (T4). Novaluron (T5), Btk (T6) and cypermethrin (T7) were sprayed 3 times. T5 resulted in the lowest mean larval population and greatest protection against pod damage (104.4%). The highest grain yields were obtained with T5 and T2 (10.45 and 9.12 quintal/ha, resulting in yield increases over the control of 102.15 and 76. 78%respectively). [1.0 quintal=100.0 kg].
