The effects of endosulfan (2.0 ml/g), imidacloprid (0.6 ml/g), Nemarin (4.0 ml/g), Bacillus thuringiensis (1.5 ml/g), Beauveria bassiana (4.0 ml/g) and Metarhizium anisopliae (4.0 ml/g) on the population of H. armigera larvae and on the yield of tomato (cv. T-5) were studied in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India, during the rabi of 2007-08. Endosulfan results in the highest yield 148.86 quintal/ha), followed by Bacillus thuringiensis (133.00 quintal/ha. The enhancement of yield was directly correlated with the level of control of H. armigera. Endosulfan also recorded the highest cost:benefit ratio (1:24.93). [1.0 quintal=100.0 kg].
