In the field of product research, many researchers found that reliability is an important characteristic of a product, and reliability of large-scale product development and production, to protect and improve the quality of their products have both very high value and significance influence. This paper describes some of the reliability of theoretical methods, including: reliability analysis, reliability optimization algorithm and reliability growth theory. The source of the data, the sample size, the system structure, and related algorithms will be discussed. We are trying to provide a comprehensive discussion of the reliability study, and based on these work, we hope to identify the direction of the study of reliability.

In this paper, the reliability model and the evaluation methods were neatly used with combining the engineering practice of the noise laboratory supply system, and this study give a quantitative evaluation result of the reliability system. It provides the scientific basis for improving the engineering design and increasing the reliability. This research results can be extended to similar projects, such as fuel supply system. From an engineering point of view, it is an innovation that the filter in the system is identified to be a "series - parallel mixed" structure by considering its physical structure and performance requirement.

A recent nationwide survey to the Swedish Engineering Industry disclosed that the understanding and use of reliability and safety methods by the small and medium sized companies on an average was distressingly low. Less than 30% of the smaller companies were familiar with reliability. In 1996, based on a survey and a following "out-line study", a new project was initiated by the Association of Swedish Engineering Industries, VI, and its Reliability Committee Te 5/2. The goal was to develop and document a program for "cooperative reliability development by small and medium-sized companies of the Swedish industrial sector". It will offer help to companies to initiate need based and local reliability work/activities. Starting point is an auditing/review of a company's existent process(es) and an audit of existing reliability status. Based on this, one will reach an understanding of in what way any "down-to-the-floor" simplified reliability-centered activity could be helpful. The final program will include necessary information and methods packages, training activities, expertise for managerial support and guidance during start-up and access to consultancy support where necessary for further implementation. The presentation will describe the project and its findings and illustrate the tools and methods developed for organizing individual down-to-the-floor reliability work programs by the industry. Details are given on: - some critical factors to be managed when implementing reliability culture in small and medium sized companies - forms for auditing the reliability development potential by a company - matrix for reliability-centered processes in product development - a simplified reliability prediction tool for the industry.

More than 50 billion devices are expected to be internet enabled by 2020, ranging from wearable devices to sensors monitoring industrial processes. As a result, emerging back-end support technologies not only have to anticipate this dramatic increase in connected devices, but also the heterogeneity and the reliability of these devices that are of major importance. For that purpose, this paper proposes an innovative mechanism for recognizing, connecting all these devices of both known and unknown nature, and capturing their reliability, so as to finally consider whether they will be considered as reliable or not, and thus their data will be kept for further analysis. In this context, in this mechanism four (4) discrete stages are implemented, facilitating the devices recognition accompanied with their specifications classification, and their reliability estimation and validation, whose combination makes finally feasible the manipulation of these devices and the estimation of their overall reliability levels.

In this paper, some recent research achievements of the first author and his team on seismic reliability theory of civil engineering structures and its applications are reviewed thoroughly. The main contents include: three new methods for seismic reliability analysis of complex structures; nonlinear seismic reliability analysis of reinforced concrete columns in compresion and bending; nonlinear static and dynamic seismic reliability analysis of complex structures based on finite element reliability methods; global seismic reliability analysis of complex structures based on system-level limit states by using random pushover analysis (RPA) and random time-history analysis (RTA); seismic damage and collapse reliability analysis of structures; sensitivity and importance analysis of seismic reliability of structures; reliability-based seismic fragility analysis, seismic performance design and optimum design. Finally, some newest developments directions in structural seismic reliability theory are pointed out.
