Direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation via Khatri-Rao (KR) subspace with multiple signal classification (MUSIC) algorithm can cope with a higher number of incoming waves than that of sensors, while it requires the signals to be quasi-stationary and needs a larger number of "frames" than that of incoming waves. On the other hand, a hybrid approach of compressed sensing and MUSIC algorithm can estimate DOAs with snapshots less than the number of sources for noiseless observation, although the number of incoming waves must be less than that of sensors. Exploiting the fact that the frame in MUSIC via KR subspace corresponds to the snapshot in conventional MUSIC without observation noise, we propose a DOA estimation scheme using KR product array processing and compressed sensing, which can cope with a greater number of incoming waves than both that of sensors and that of frames. The validity of the proposed method is shown via numerical experiments.

Rhodes and coworkers have reported a great many results over the last decade showing directional keV x-ray emission in laser pulse channeling experiments in Xe and in Kr clusters. Selective inner-shell ionization has been proposed as a mechanism to produce gain. We propose that directional emission might be due instead to a phased array emission effect, following up-conversion through a new quantum effect.

For the moment the energy safety of the Kaliningrad region (KR) is largely dependent on the mutual electrical energy exchange through existing connections to Lithuania and further to Belarus and Russia. Taking into account the upcoming KR energy system disconnection from Lithuania, followed by isolated operation (starting from 2025) and wind energy potential of KR, the question of electrical production by the wind as an option for KR sustainable development should be considered. The paper aims to compare three different connection possibilities for onshore power plans (WPP) of different capacity (30 and 90 MW) based on preliminary system power flow calculations using an especially developed energy system model, which are: 1. connection of WPPs to the existing substations of the grid; 2. connection of WPPs to "Wind Grid" ("WG") - new lines and substations in energy system especially constructed for wind energy production; 3. simultaneous connection of WPPs to existing substations and to "WG". The conclusion of the paper is 1st the option is the cheapest, but not viable because WPPs create additional problems with voltage levels and lines overload. Some measures to overcome observed problems are proposed. The electrical system parameters, such as voltage levels, power flows, and power losses are very close for the 3rd and 2nd options. The 3rd option is more expensive, because of additional switching equipment, but most flexible and easy to handle for the system operator.

There has been a rapid increase in the demand for high-quality steel in India. Kanbara reactor desulfurization process (hereafter KR), as part of the treatment process for hot metal, is integral to the stable and efficient production of high-quality steel. Nippon Steel & Sumikin Engineering Co., Ltd. (hereafter NSENGI) has produced approximately 20 deliveries of KR, both in Japan and overseas. Of the three KR units currently active in India, two are the movable KR which NSENGI delivered and successfully started up at JSW Steel Limited Vijayanagar Works. High desulfurization ratio was performed even though in the condition of high initial sulfur content rate. Introduction of KR and comparison between KR and injection desulfurization process based on the actual operational data is described in this paper.

This work introduces Distributional Relational Networks (DRNs), a Knowledge Representation (KR) framework which focuses on allowing semantic approximations over large-scale and heterogeneous knowledge bases. The proposed model uses the distributional semantics information embedded in large text/data corpora to provide a comprehensive and principled solution for semantic approximation. DRNs can be applied to open domain knowledge bases and can be used as a KR model for commonsense reasoning. Experimental results show the suitability of DRNs as a semantically flexible KR framework.

In order to control KR production cost, production data investigation was done on site at one steelmaking plant. The investigation is mainly about desulfurizing agent consumption. By comparison and analysis, it is found that the desulfurizing agent consumption in this plant can be improved further and major influencing factors are investigated such as initial [S] content, desulfurizing rate, hot metal temperature, impeller stirring status. By technical improvement, the desulfurizing agent consumption could be reduced with 0.5~1kg/t steel, saving 0.5~1RMB/t steel.

High-spin states in _36~74 Kr_38 were studied using the ~40Ca(~40Ca,~2p)~74Kr fusion evaporation reaction at a beam energy of 165 MeV with GAMMASPHERE and MICROBALL and at a beam energy of 185 MeV with EUROBALL and ISIS multi-detector arrays. Lifetimes of the high-spin states for the ground-state band and the favoured negative-parity band have been determined using the Doppler-shift attenuation method. The deduced transition quadrupole moments show a marginal decrease as a function of spin, suggesting that the rotational bands do not terminate at the maximum spin I_max.

61.1 Introduction Dirichlet (D) brane are describe as the non-perturbative objects in ten dimensional type II superstring theory. For a constant Neveu-Schwarz (NS) background in an open string theory, the U(1) gauge field turns out to be non-linear on a D-brane and has been shown to describe an open string metric [1]. In this article I will explore the dynamical aspect of NS two form. In the context, the Kalb-Ramond (KR) field dynamics are used to define a modified derivative in an effective gravity theory [2]. It has been shown to govern emergent curvatures on a gravitational pair of (33)-brane. The Schwinger pair production mechanism is generalised to stringy pair production via the KR field. The non-perturbation consideration is important to describe Hawking radiation phenomenon at the black hole event horizon. The idea is used for the open strings used for the open strings pair production [3] by an electromagnetic field.
