The article examines the compatibility of inclusion and transition, two of the most important reforms to affect the field of special education in recent years. The main premise is that the noble ideals associated with full inclusion have the potential to contravene the delivery of responsive and proven-effective career services for students with disabilities as they make the transition from public schools to the world of work. Additional emphasis is placed on casting inclusion and transition within the context of contemporary reforms in general education, most notably the quest for academic excellence and the related practice of high-stakes testing.

This Special Issue seeks to begin to map out the key issues and contours of the emerging stream of literature on critical studies of inclusion in organisations. We aim to generate and develop further debates on critically theorising the concept, rhetoric and practices of inclusion, how inclusion manifests in different organisational contexts, how it works for different social groups, and how it continues to be implicated and interwoven with the logic of exclusion and inequality in contemporary organisations. The term ‘inclusion’ seems to have augmented the term ‘diversity’, resulting in the emergence of ‘diversity and inclusion’ as a standing term, with other terms, such as ‘equality’ and ‘equity’ currently less frequently used. In this Special Issue we treat diversity and inclusion as analytically distinct and question how far the ‘inclusion turn’ is changing practices in organisations. The papers in this Special Issue discuss how organisations ‘do’ inclusion, explore the conditions on which minority groups are included, and seek to develop a more nuanced understanding of the concept of inclusion by situating it into the broader social context and questioning the inclusion-exclusion binary.

Purpose - This paper aim to fill the gaps by looking for the determinants and barriers related to financial inclusion. This study assesses the effect of socio-demographic variables on the use of formal financial inclusion services. Design/methodology/approach - This article examines the barriers to formal financial inclusion, focusing on saving and credit strands. The authors propose the probit model, allowing distinguishing the outcome variable into three categories: Formal inclusion, informal inclusion and financial exclusion. The authors apply this model to the Findex 2017 survey data. Findings - Estimation results propose that the trust to financial institutions, the distance to banks, the lack of documentation and the service costs are the main barriers, but these barriers affect the probability of using formal financial services differently according to the types of financial services (saving or credit). Research limitations/implications - To advance the formal financial inclusion in Tunisia, the authors call for continuing promoting financial literacy among adults and the young population, which helps them understand the benefits of using formal financial services. Financial literacy throws in constructing the individual trust toward the financial sector in a country that experienced several decades of political and economic instability. Originality/value - Financial inclusion promotes growth through a broadening of the system and technology that can be a major catalyst for greater financial inclusion. It helps in the overall economic development of the underprivileged population and contributes to poverty reduction. It can also enhance the security of payments, and thus lower the incidence of associated crime.

Urban waterfronts are significant centers for creating economic, social, and cultural hubs of urban life. However, like many other Asian cities, it has become a challenge for Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, to sustain its waterfronts. In Dhaka, the waterfront of Buriganga projects a contested urban dynamics through aggressive reclamation and inappropriate interventions due to economic needs and functional supports forever increasing population. The establishment of Buriganga Bridge 1 is such an intervention, creating new challenges not only for the waterfront, but also for the integration of both the riverbanks of southern Dhaka and Keraniganj. This paper will examine the drawbacks and possibilities of both sides' junction points of Buriganga Bridge 1 as a waterfront in respect to physical and social integration. Through the analysis of physical problems and usable opportunities of the studied waterfront, the paper will recommend an inclusive approach for both the junctions to cope with the surroundings. An empirical study followed by literature review, observation, and questionnaire survey have been conducted to identify the current problems and user driven demand for the waterfront development at the two junctions of Buriganga Bridge 1.

In this paper, the inclusion complexation between host and guest in cyclodextrin (CD) chemistry is carefully compared with the coordination interaction between central ion (M~(x+)) and ligands in coordination chemistry. In view of the importance of the concept of the coordination number (CN) of M~(x+) in coordination compounds, the inclusion number (IN) is first defined to evaluate the nature of inclusion complexation between host and guest in CD supramolecular inclusion complexes. The similarities and differences between CN and IN are also discussed. The changes of the number and forms of water molecules both in CD hydrates and in CD crystal inclusion complex hydrates are reviewed. Moreover, this paper emphasizes the distinction between the two forms of CD-guest inclusion phenomenon, I.e., inclusion complexation and encapsulation interaction. Furthermore, the present work indicates that though chemical stoichiometric ratio can be used to characterize the inclusion phenomena, IN can better reveal the essence of inclusion phenomena in cyclodextrin chemistry.

With an aim to investigate inclusion across borders, quantitative and qualitative data were examined that came from 18 countries: Australia, Brazil, Canada, Cyprus, Finland, France, Iceland, India, Ireland, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, the UK, and the USA. Four themes emerged in this study: (1) concerns with student outcomes in inclusive settings; (2) teachers' beliefs and the ways they relate to their practices; (3) inclusive schools philosophies and practices; and (4) the intersection of inclusion and exclusion. Although international policies, knowledge, and understanding about inclusion and inclusive practices continue to advance throughout the world, there are manifestations of provincialism and discrimination predominantly marked by ethnicity, socio-economic status, and ability. While a reality for some students, inclusion remains an aspiration for too many.

Neuronal intranuclear (hyaline) inclusion disease (NIID) is a rare neurodegenerative disorder with a variable clinical presentation and multiple subtypes. We present the clinicopathologic details of a patient with juvenile-onset NIID and discuss the pathogenesis. We also discuss the utility of antemortem skin biopsy which was negative in our case.

In last twenty years, Romanian schools have gradually tried to open and to adapt the educational offer in relation with the new directions of change in educational activities (the result of integration and inclusion programs). An analysis of the national situation has revealed a number of strands in the improvement and development of educational services for the integration of children with special needs and disabilities in mainstreaming schools; to understand the distance between theory and practice in terms of the quality of education services for children with disabilities, we gather some information taken from various reports and documents prepared by authorized institutions in the field.

The influence of rear earth (RE) addition (from 0.22 to 0.78 kg/t) on non-metallic inclusions in Fe-25Cr-7Ni-3Mo-0.25N duplex stainless steel (DSS) was investigated experimentally using 1 kg vacuum induction furnace in order to understand the formation (including composition and geometry), modification and deformation during the rolling of RE inclusions in this steel. A maximum amount of 0.67 kg/t RE addition is necessary to avoid an increased inclusion population because the RE inclusions have very low floatability with higher RE additions. With increasing RE addition the formed inclusions refine to smaller than 3 mu m. Total replacement of manganese in the inclusions is occurred by the increase of RE content in inclusion to over 57 percent and the RE inclusions are heterogeneous sulphides and oxysulphides. The RE inclusions have not been deformed after rolling besides two-partial (RE), (Mn)S inclusion. The methods of inclusion shape control are reviewed.

It is known that many people are being excluded unnecessarily from using products, services and environments that are essential for supporting independence and quality of life. Such exclusion often arises from designers taking inadequate account of the end user's functional capabilities when making design decisions. This paper addresses how traditional usability techniques can be extended to include accessibility issues by considering the spread of user functional capabilities across the population. A series of measures for evaluating the level of design exclusion based on those capabilities is also presented.
