It is urgent to find an effective antiviral drug against SARS-CoV-2. In this study, 96 virus-drug associations (VDAs) from 12 viruses including SARS-CoV-2 and similar viruses and 78 small molecules are selected. Complete genomic sequence similarity of viruses and chemical structure similarity of drugs are then computed. A KATZ-based VDA prediction method (VDA-KATZ) is developed to infer possible drugs associated with SARS-CoV-2. VDA-KATZ obtained the best AUCs of 0.8803 when the walking length is 2. The predicted top 3 antiviral drugs against SARS-CoV-2 are remdesivir, oseltamivir, and zanamivir. Molecular docking is conducted between the predicted top 10 drugs and the virus spike protein/human ACE2. The results showed that the above 3 chemical agents have higher molecular binding energies with ACE2. For the first time, we found that zidovudine may be effective clues of treatment of COVID-19. We hope that our predicted drugs could help to prevent the spreading of COVID.

In this work, we introduce a priority-aware deterministic access protocol called Vehicular Deterministic Access (VDA). VDA is based on 802.11p/DSRC and allows vehicles to access the shared medium in collision-free periods. Particularly, VDA supports two types of safety services (emergency and routine safety messages) with different priorities and strict requirements on delay. To avoid long delays and high packet collisions, VDA allows vehicles to access the wireless medium at selected times with a lower contention than would otherwise be possible within a two-hop neighborhood by the classical 802.11p Enhanced Distributed Channel Access or Distributed Coordination Function schemes. A non-VDA-enabled vehicle, that is, a vehicle not configured with the optional VDA capability over 802.11p, may start transmitting on the shared channel just before or during the VDA opportunities reserved for vehicles with VDA capabilities. To avoid the aforementioned issues and prevent interfering transmissions from VDA-enabled vehicles and non-VDA-enabled vehicles, we also proposed a novel scheme called extended VDA. We analyzed the impact of several design tradeoffs between the contention free period/contention period dwell time ratios on the performance of safety applications with different priorities for VDA and extended VDA. Simulations show that the proposed schemes clearly outperform the backoff-based schemes currently used by 802.11p in high communication density conditions while bounding the transmission delay of safety messages and increasing the packet reception rate. To cope with SBLOCA in absence of High-Head Safety Injection (HHSI) from design of HPR1000, atmospheric relief system (originally named as VDA in French) is uniquely designed to help to trigger Middle Head Safety Injection (MHSI) or Low Head Safety Injection (LHSI) earlier through cooling primary system quickly after SBLOCA. To make the best use of VDA decay heat removal capability, primary and secondary system of HPR1000 was modeled with RELAP5/SCDAP computer code. After steady-state initialization, a cold leg 30 mm break SBLOCA was simulated with six simulation conditions and five additional cases including availability of ACCU, different VDA discharge locations and area. Response characteristics of primary loop under different VDA working conditions are investigated. Pressurizer pressure decreases rapidly to lower level to trigger the reactor scram, VDA activation and accumulator safety injection sequently. Peak cladding temperature is 899.45 IC occurring at 222 s, which is far below the safety limit. Activation of VDA can trigger ACCU SI earlier with a critical point, while positive reactivity will be introduced due to negative moderator temperature effect and Doppler effect. Larger VDA discharge capability will introduce larger reactivity feedback, as well as induce lower core level and SG level. It's suggested that VDA discharge condition should be chosen before the critical point, with the compromise with reactivity feedback introduced due to the negative moderator temperature effect. In order to carry out the industrial process monitoring and the product inspection, it is essential to use suitable measurement systems. Therefore, in favor of ensuring good performance for the required task, measurement system analyzes must be conducted in advance. However, the indiscriminate application of statistical methods and overestimated acceptance criteria has been used in the analysis of measurement systems. This has caused the disapproval of several measuring instruments that could be appropriately used for measuring tasks. This article reviews critically the acceptance criteria defined in the main reference manuals of measurement systems analysis (MSA and VDA 5). It also demonstrates that, in general, the measurement system variability is acceptable by 30% of tolerance in order to be controlled.

Two highly accelerated lab tests, ISO 11846 Method B and PV1113, three cyclic tests, VDA621-415 (also known as ISO11997 Cycle B), VDA233-102, and ASTM G85 Annex 2 as well as an accelerated urban outdoor exposure were investigated and compared with respect to their suitability for the evaluation of the IGC susceptibility of bare 6000 aluminum alloys. AA6014 and AA6016, each tested in a low and a high Cu containing variant, suffered, predominantly, intergranular corrosion (IGC) when tested under ISO 11846 and PV1113 conditions. The results obtained by ISO11846 were systematically higher compared to those measured using PV1113. VDA621-415 (ISO11997 Cycle B) and VDA233-102 caused only slight localized corrosion, which occurred as IGC, too; however, the density of attack was low. ASTM G85 A2 was the only test that predominantly caused pitting corrosion to occur on all materials.

Growing concerns about the emissions of plastic products have caused many major changes worldwide in recent years. Legal requirements, health concerns, the expectations of customers and the global automotive industry to produce increasingly safer products have encouraged the development of new analysis methods and the introduction of emission standards by car manufacturers. The substances responsible for volatile emissions (VOC and SVOC content) from automotive flexible polyurethane foams (e.g. car seats) were studied 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, and 30 days after production according to a slightly modified VDA 278 standard. This research helps to understand both the short-term and longer-term volatile content, thus, the emissions affecting the workers and the subsequent effects on the customer after installation of the product are also monitored. It was determined that the catalysts and surfactant used in the formulation was responsible for most of the VOC content. In light of the results, recommendation was also provided on which additives need to be replaced in order to meet industry expectations and the replacement of two additives (DMAEE and surfactant) was investigated. Thus, a unique approach is presented which combine the strength of analytical techniques with industrial requirements to provide safer products for the end users.
