These groups were allotted randomly to 3 housing systems: G1, loose housing System; G2, semi-loose housing system; and G3-conventional housing system. The time spent cleaning of the sheds was significantly less in group G3 as compared with G1 and G2 respectively. The time spent for cleaning of the animals was 16.0+-1.6, 24.0+-3.7 and 36.2+-4.4 minutes in G1, G2 and G3 groups respectively. Milking operations indicated that let-down time and milking time was significantly less in G3 as compared with G1 and G2 groups respectively. The labour utilization pattern on farm operations in different seasons indicated that roughagefeeding, shed cleaning and animal cleaning time was significantly less during summer as compared with winter and spring. Time spent on milking operations indicated that milking time and milk yield of the animals decreased from winter through spring andsummer gradually. It may be due to the declining phase of the lactation curve in buffaloes. This study indicated that 5-6 lactating buffaloes kept under different housing and management systems can be managed by 1 worker. 收起
