Almond cultivars from IRTA's breeding program were tested for physical and textural properties. Studied cultivars were: 'Constanti', 'Francoli', 'Glorieta', 'Marinada', 'Masbovera', Tarraco', 'Vairo'. Samples were collected in three different environmental conditions (Mas de Bover in Tarragona coast, Gandesa in continental Tarragona and Borges Blanques in Lleida) and during four years (2005 to 2008). Raw, blanched and roasted nuts were tested for physical properties (weight, shape, nut color and texture analysis) and industrial aptitude (weight loses, splits and breaks for each industrial process). Mean scores for each property are reported joined with some correlations to chemical composition. Also genetic and environmental effects on each chemical component are discussed.
