Hydrocarbon 3,4- ethylenedioxyselenophene (C_~2H_5 to C_(12)H _(25)) derivatives are synthesized and electropolymerized in propylene carbonate using lithium tetrafluoroborate (LiBF4) and lithium bistrifluoromethanesulfonimidate (LiTf_2N) as electrolyte. Highly structured films are obtained from a C_8H_(17) chain independent of the electrolyte used. Superhydrophobic properties with high adhesion are specifically reached if using a C_(12)H_(25) chain and LiBF_4. The surface morphology is porous and highly structured as the films consist of assemblies of nanofibrils. Sitting on holes: Superhydrophobic surfaces with high adhesion are obtained by electrodeposition of conducting polymers, hydrocarbon poly(3,4-ethylenedioxyselenophene). Such properties are specifically obtained using long alkyl chains (C _(12)H_(25)) and lithium tetrafluoroborate in propylene carbonate as electrolyte (see picture). 收起
