Heat transfer and pressure drop studies of three geometries viz. straight rectangular, wavy and a novel semi --wavy minichannels are carried out experimentally. All the minichannels have the same hydraulic diameter and cross section. DI water and two volume concentrations (0.1, 0.3%) of Al2O3-CuO hybrid nanofluids are used as working fluids with flow rates in the range of 100-600 ml/min. The effects of coolant inlet temperatures on the heat transfer performance are also studied. To understand the comprehensive effect of heat transfer and pressure drop, the performance enhancement coefficient (PEC) is evaluated for all the configurations and is found to be greater than unity. Using hybrid nanofluids, semi-wavy minichannel exhibits higher PEC at lower flow rates and wavy minichannel (WMC) performs better at higher flow rates. With DI water as a coolant, WMC has the highest PEC at all flow rates.
