摘要 : This study aimed to investigate the distribution and variation of water-soluble silicon and the performance of woody trees (<i>Acacia nilotica, Dalbergia sissoo, Casuarina equisetifolia</i> and <i>Prosopis juliflora</i>) in highly... 展开 This study aimed to investigate the distribution and variation of water-soluble silicon and the performance of woody trees (<i>Acacia nilotica, Dalbergia sissoo, Casuarina equisetifolia</i> and <i>Prosopis juliflora</i>) in highly sodic soils under an agroforestry system in Haryana, India. In general, water-soluble silicon content was lower in the upper soil layer. The average values of water-soluble silicon were 78.64, 89.94 and 82.70 mg/kg in the upper, middle and lower soil layer, respectively. The mean values of water-soluble silicon in the upper and middle soil layers under the different tree species followed an identical trend: <i>D. sissoo</i> > <i>A. nilotica</i> <i>C. equisetifolia</i> > <i>P. juliflora</i>. However, the trend was slightly different in the lower layer which followed the order: <i>D. sissoo</i> > <i>C. equisetifolia</i> ~ <i>A. nilotica</i> > <i>P. juliflora</i>. <i>P. juliflora</i> attained maximum height (2.1 m), which was significantly superior to the other trees: 1.87, 1.74 and 1.4 m for <i>A. nilotica, D. sissoo</i> and <i>C. equisetifolia</i>, respectively. Diameter at stump height and biomass were also highest in <i>P. juliflora</i> (4.1 cm and 3.00 kg/tree, respectively). It is concluded that <i>P. juliflora</i> is the best option for increasing biomass production in a semiarid highly sodic soil condition. 收起
