An experimental study of downward bubbly flow in a vertical pipe with 14 mm inner diameter was performed. Experi-ments were made for low liquid velocities close to the vanishing gas flow regime. Electrodiffusional technique was used to measure local wall shear stress. A significant increase of wall shear stress in bubbly flow compared to single-phase flow was shown. The values of void fraction were obtained from the force balance using measured pressure drop and wall shear stress in bubbly flow.
