Jamalpur, M... 展开 The study was undertaken in the purposively selected Burdwan districts of West Bengal, The study covered total 90 Santhal women dairy farmer from the six villages of the three highest Santhal tribe populated block viz. Jamalpur, Memari-I and Kalna-II.Regarding existing dairy farming practices among the Santhal Tribe women, it was found that, bellowing was the main method of heat detection. No one adopted Al practices but they use known pedigree bull for natural services for their heifer at the age of 3.5 years. Incase of existing feeding practices, they followed grazing as well as stall feeding and use bhusa & straw as a dry fodder. In case of animal health care, Santhal are very familiar for the identification of the chronic diseases and took vaccination measure. Santhal women dairy farmer were selling their milk mainly through milk vendor and halwai and getting Rs. 8 -9/ litre of milk. 收起
