The failure of the AMSU-A in 2016 led to the exclusion of its data from the AIRS processing scheme and introduction of the simplified AIRS Only algorithm used today at NASA. An approach to the restoration of the AIRS all-weather functionality using data from the Advanced Technology Microwave Sounder (ATMS) of the Suomi-NPP and NOAA-20 satellites is proposed. It is shown that the introduction of the ATMS data to the processing algorithm makes it possible to obtain geophysical results that are almost identical to the initial AIRS/AMSU data. 收起
