Organic manures, <i>viz.</i>, compost, vermicompost, phosphocompost and mustard cake along with microbial inoculants of <i>Azospirillum brasilense</i> and arbuscular mycorrhiza (<i>Glomus fasciculatum</i>) were tried. A significant difference in the rhizome yield was noticed when organic manure-microbial inoculants combination was compared with recommended dose of fertilizers (inorganic). Most effective treatment was vermicompost+<i>Azospirillum</i>+AM (28.94 t ha-1), followed by compost+<i>Azospirillum</i>+AM (26.93 t ha-1). The nutrient content in leaf tissue of turmeric was analyzed at 90, 120 and 150 days after planting (DAP). In all cases, except iron, an increasing trend in leaf nutrient content was observed from 90 DAP to 120 DAP. Application of vermicompost+<i>Azospirillum</i>+AM was found most superior over other combinations in terms of leaf nutrient content of turmeric.
