However, due to the ultra-tight formation, there are various shortcomings in the traditional coring and core analysis, such as high cost of shale coring, long time of laboratory measurements, etc. Also, the laboratory measurements are insufficient to describe the reservoir characteristics at the pore-scale. This paper proposes a shale oil reservoir characterization method based on the quantitative digital cutting analysis. In this study, the cuttings of J174, a typical well in Lucaogou shale oil reservoir of Jimusaer, were selected. Combined with the SEM digital quantitative analysis and J-function method, the minimum pore throat size for mobile shale oil was evaluated, which agrees well with the NMR logging. 收起
