Here we highlight recent findings on the use of microparticles in the cultivation of filamentous bacteria and fungi, with the aim of enabling a more precise control of their morphology towards better production performance. First examples reveal a broad application range of microparticle based processes, since multiple filamentous organisms are controllable in their growth characteristics and respond by enhanced product formation. 收起
