Among the round fruited varieties Punjab Moti recorded highest average yield ... 展开 An experiment was conducted at Zonal Agricultural Research Station, Navile, Shimoga to screen Brinjal varieties for their yield under rainfed situation. Among the round fruited varieties Punjab Moti recorded highest average yield of 8.20 tones/ha followed by Hissar Shymol (7.30 tonnes/ha) and Hissar Pragathi(7.20 tones/ha). Among the long fruited varieties Erangere (6.70 tones/ha) was recorded the highest fruit yield in comparison with other long fruited varieties. Punjab Moti was found to be early in flowering and fruiting (115-120 days) which enabled it to complete its life cycle in rainy season. A spacing of 75 X75 cm was found to be better for long fruited variety (Erangere) and 60 X 45 cm for Round varieties (Punjab Moti). 收起
