To study the effects of foliar application of thiourea and Zn on growth, yield and economics of wheat under semi-arid irrigated conditions of Rajasthan, a field experiment was conducted from 2009 to 2011. Four treatments i. e. water spray (control), 0.05% thiourea, 0.5% ZnSO4 and 0.05% thiourea+0.2% ZnSO4 were evaluated in randomized block design having five replications. Foliar application of 0.5% ZnSO4 and 0.05% thiourea+0.2% ZnSO4 improved plant height, number of effective tillers, number of grain per spike, 1000-grain weight and yield. Two foliar application of thiourea @ 0.05%, ZnSO4 @ 0.5% and thiourea @ 0.05%+ZnSO4 @ 0.2% recorded 5.7, 10.4 and 12.7% higher grain yield over control, respectively. The results suggest that combined two foliar application of thiourea @ 0.05%+ZnSO4 @ 0.2% helps to achieve higher yields and returns of wheat under semi-arid irrigated conditions of Rajasthan.
