The association among yield components, their direct and indirect influences on grain yield was estimated in a diallel cross analysis of seven parent and their 21 F1's (excluding reciprocal cross) were included in this study which revealed that grains yield had highest correlated with days to 75% flowering, number of tillers per plant, plant height and number of spikelets per spike. These characters also recorded maximum direct effects on yield per plant indicating that yield was a function of both growth and yield components. The narrow differences between value at genotypic and phenotypic level suggested for low environmental effects.
