Percentage of rur... 展开 Jn this study, the impact of rural infrastructure and value of agriculture output on rural poverty is analyzed using both pooled Ordinary Least Square (OLS) and fixed effects techniques across districts in India. Percentage of rural poverty (PRP) is considered as dependent variable and value of agriculture output per hectare of gross cropped area (VAO), average wage of agricultural labourers (AWAL), percentage of village electrified (ELEC), percentage of village having road facilities (ROAD), gross cropped area per thousand agricultural workers number (GCAPTAWN) and percentage of gross irrigated area to gross cropped area (GIAGCA) are regarded as explanatory variables in the analysis. The results showed that value of agricultural output along with the rural infrastructure development (irrigation, road and electricity) have considerable relevance in determining the rural poverty. The impact of rural infrastructure development on rural poverty is better pronounced when infrastructural variables are used as lagged variables. This implies that infrastructural development is an important determinant in reducing the rural poverty. 收起
