This work aims to study the length-weight relationships for the nuts of nogal among trees located in a city park. Nuts were manually picked from the ground on May 2021. Nuts completely devoid of flesh and other fruit parts were selected for the current work. Non-destructive and external morphological measurements were used in this study due to the endangered status of the species. Mean nut length, width and weight were 37.17 mm, 35.15 mm and, 20.47 g, respectively. Nut length was 29.43-43.63 mm. Nut width was 28.61-42.32 mm and weight 11.53-28.61 g. Nut width and weight showed a strong correlation (R-2 = 0.80). Nut length and weight had a moderate-strong correlation (R-2 = 0.65). Nut length and weight relationships linked to phenological studies are essential to select the best plant material for breeding programs in the urban forest. Seed collecting programs and protocols are key for conservation measures. Seed-morphological data is important to establish breeding programs for nogal in the urban forest. 收起
