Stem rot of fennel is important fungal disease causes heavy losses in some parts of Gujarat State. The extract of garlic bulb (Allum sativum) proved highly inhibitory to stem rot pathogen in two solvent fractions (water and acetone). Both the species of Trichoderma inhibited the growth of A. burnsii. The systemic fungicides, carbendazim, thiophenate methyl and difenconazole completely inhibited the fungal mycelial growth and sclerotial production at 50 ppm concentration. In non-systemic fungicide, captan and thiram at 500 ppm, mancozeb at 1,000 ppm and copper oxychloride at 3,000 ppm concentration whereas in combine fungicide carboxin+thiram and carbendazim+mancozeb at 100 ppm and metalaxyl+mancozeb at 1,000 ppm concentration completely inhibited the fungal mycelial growth and sclerotial production. Carbendazim was found significantly superior in reducing seedling mortality (15.00%) and also increase germination (88.9%) in vivo.
