Currently, its production from its well known sources (grape, peanut, etc.) by using some sustainable and economically viable methods has become a necessity to fulfil its increasing demand in pharmaceutical, food and cosmetic industries. In this study, hairy root cultures of grape (Vitis vinifera) were established by using Agrobacterium rhizogenes strain 15834 and tested as a bioproduction system for trans-resveratrol. HPLC analysis of hairy root extracts confirmed the presence of trans-resveratrol. This study might prove a milestone in development of a novel, powerful and reliable method for resveratrol production from hairy root cultures of grape plants. 收起
