Therefore, it is important for buyers to determine the comparative advantages of supplier countries, and suppliers to understand the determinants of their export performance to become more competitive in the era of trade liberalization. The purpose of this study was to understand the emerging trends and determinants of Pakistan textile and clothing export performances over the 33 years (1980-2013).After the implementation of the Agreement on Textile and Clothing (ATC) in December2004, member countries of World Trade Organization (WTO) have quota-free trade except People's Republic of China (PRC).It was expected that Pakistan will be beneficiary in textile and clothing due to expected superior export performance in this sector. Therefore, this study aims estimating revealed comparative advantage (RCA) of textile and clothing sector of Pakistan. It reveals Pakistan has comparative advantage in textile sector and low comparative advantage in clothing sector. Further, it analyzes factor that determine the performance of textile and clothing export of Pakistan. 收起
