The New Orleans District territory encompasses 30,000 square miles. It includes sections of the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway from Lake Borgne Light 29 at the mouth of Pearl River to Sabine River, and the Passes of the Mississippi River. It exercises jurisdiction over flood control work on the Mississippi River from mile 325.5 AHP to the Gulf of Mexico; the Atchafalaya River; the Atchafalaya Basin; and maintenance of the project navigation channel of the Mississippi River below mile 325.5 AHP, under supervision of the President, Mississippi River Commission (MRC), and the Division Engineer, Mississippi Valley Division. 收起
