The Symposium was held at the 211CONGRES CENTRE in The Hague, The Netherlands, on 20-25 September 1998. The main 211themes of this Symposium are Design Production, Ship Hydromechanics, Ship 211Structures and Materials and Offshore Engineering. Proposal for over two hundred 211papers have been received for PRADS '98 from 25 countries, and 126 have been 211accepted for presentation at the Conference. Given the Organizing Committee to 211make a proper balanced selection. Some topics, which attracted many papers, were 211Design Loads, Design for Ultimate Strength, Impact of Safety and Environment, 211Grounding and Collision, Resistance and Flow, Seakeeping, Fatigue Considerations 211and Propulsor and Propulsion Systems.
