摘要 : The North Pacific Marine Ecosystem Study Group, which is headed by Dr Masayuki Komatsu and comprises experts in fisheries, ecosystem, and international relations and university professors, released interim recommendations under th... 展开 The North Pacific Marine Ecosystem Study Group, which is headed by Dr Masayuki Komatsu and comprises experts in fisheries, ecosystem, and international relations and university professors, released interim recommendations under the title of "Structural Reform Model for Japan Based on Broader Perspective Needed from the Fisheries Sector" in July 2020. Japan's fisheries production which once reached a peak of 12 million tons, has decreased to 4.16 million tons in 2019. Japan also lost 6.5 million tons of fisheries production in its EEZ. In response, the Study Group proposes that Japan should implement holistic ecosystem-based fisheries management to replace the existing management that focuses on the management of single fish species. The Study Group aims to contribute to the formulation and implementation of an appropriate fisheries policy by analyzing these challenges and recommending priority responses. 收起
