Although many algorithms for vector quantizer design havebeen developed, the classical generalized Lloyd algorithm (GLA) is stillwidely used, mainly for its simplicity and relatively good performance.Using law of cosines this letter presents a simple improved method fornearest-neighbor search in GLA.
