This list of currently existing National Nuclear Data Committees, and their memberships, is published with the object of promoting the interaction and enhance the awareness of nuclear data activities in IAEA Member States. The following Member States have indicated the existence of a nuclear data committee in their countries: Bangladesh, Bolivia, Bulgaria, France, Hungary, India, Japan, Romania, Sweden, USSR, United Kingdom, USA, Yugoslavia. The compilation of this document has been computerized, with the result that its content is now presented in two separate sections: one describing the organization and objectives of each of the nuclear data committees, and the other giving the membership of the committees including names, addresses and areas of specialization of the committee members. The Polish Government is interested in a broad perspective of institutional arrangements in the national energy sector. A brief review of energy administrations in the EC countries illustrates that only a few of the energy ministries established in 1970's after the oil crisis still remain. At present, energy departments are incorporated in a ministry of economic affairs or trade and industry and have broad energy policy responsibilities. Their subdivisions are oriented towards energy resources and in some cases also with energy conservation. Energy is not treated as a common commodity, but is strongly controlled by legislation. Germany and United Kingdom have the most strongly privatized energy sectors in EC but nevertheless still have a plethora of laws concerning pricing, investment, organization, monopolies, supply areas, grid development, maintenance, etc. Government involvement in energy sector is still far greater than set by EC policies directed to privatisation and competition. Comparison of energy administrations of Poland and EC countries is hampered by incomparable key economic figures and different political and cultural traditions; however the overall institutional set-up for energy has some common characteristics in the EC countries: Energy departments within a ministry of economic affairs are subdivided according to energy carriers and include energy conservation and energy planning units in general energy policy units. Polish parliament is responsible for election and establishment of an adequate and competent energy administration structure. Energy planning plays an important role in EC countries. National energy plans are strongly related to key economic figures for economic sectors and subsectors and are usually commissioned by general policy units in the department of energy and updated at regular intervals. They function as anchor points for industry, thus providing basic data.

A survey is presented for various laboratories where nuclear data measurement facilities are applied to measure specific data. The laboratories are located in France (2 laboratories), in Germany (4 laboratories), in Japan (10 laboratories), in Russia (Institute of Physics and Power Engineering), in Sweden (Department of Neutron Research, Uppsala University), and in the USA (5 laboratories). Numerous organizational mergers fail because the post-merger integration process fails: this research responds by investigating the concealed relationship of the known, premerger organizational characteristics, on the unknown, post-merger consequences. Various structural and behavioral characteristics of the merging organizations are studied to measure their association with two decisive outcomes: the integration of the distinctive cultures and the combined organization s performance. Considered are varied antecedent organizational characteristics, which are believed to have an unknown effect on the organizational communication and learning process, and therefore have impact also to some unknown degree on post-merger outcomes. This study employs computational organization theory (COT) techniques, such as agent- based modeling and computer simulation, to experimentally manipulate these organizational characteristics in a series of controlled experiments all conducted within a virtual laboratory.

Organic farming systems reflect several fundamental principles that early innovators established through careful observation of soils, crops, livestock, and life processes in natural and agricultural systems. Practitioners have refined, updated, and expressed these principles in different ways over the past 75 years, yet the foundational principles of organic agriculture remain relatively constant. In addition to over 12,000 USDA-certified organic producers, many other U.S. producers implement “sustainable,” “ecological,” “biological,” or “natural” methods derived from these same principles. While many producers may follow similar principals, all certified organic producers must comply with the USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) National Organic Program (NOP) regulations – commonly known as the USDA organic regulations. Only those producers following the USDA organic regulations may market their products as organic.

The Army has been incredibly successful in introducing Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) from corps level to platoon. Although still relatively new to combined arms operations, UAS are revolutionizing how the Army fights. In 2003, the Army deployed 13 aircraft for Operation Iraqi Freedom. Some 10 years later, about 1,200 unmanned medium and large aircraft are in the field. This number increases significantly when small UAS (SUAS) are included. Today, just counting medium and large platforms, the Army has more UAS than the U.S. Navy and Air Force combined. Collectively, Army UAS have flown almost two million deployed hours.

The n.m.r. spectrum of the methylene hydrogen 3,3-dimethylbutylmagnesium chloride in diethyl ether solution changes from an A2X2-type spectrum at 33degrees to an AA'XX'-type at -50degrees. The observation of two distinct vicinal coupling constants at low temperatures indicates that in version of configuration at the -CH2-Mg center is slow on the n.m.r. time scale,and strongly suggests that the populations of the 3 conforma tions are not equal. Evidence supports previous suggestions that changes in rate of inversion are responsible for changes in the appearance of the spectrum. The n.m.r. spectrum of the methylene group of 2-phenyl-3-methylbutylmagnesium chloride also shows a temperature variation suggesting changes in rate of version. (Author)

The optical response of polyphosphazenes can be directly related to the (pi) (out-of-plane) and (pi)(prime) (in-plane) bonding interactions intrinsic to the electronic structure of these materials. Altering this structure either by hydrogen bonding or absorbate effects, affects both the linear and nonlinear optical susceptibilities. In this paper, we have performed electronic structure calculations on the cyclic molecules, P(sub 3)N(sub 3)(NHCH(sub 3))(sub 6), P(sub 3)N(sub 3)(SCH(sub 3))(sub 6), P(sub 3)N(sub 3)(OCH(sub 3))(sub 6) and P(sub 4)N(sub 4)(NHCH(sub 3))(sub 8) as model systems for the polymer. Charge distribution arguments are discussed to explain the influence of a polarizing electric field on the (pi) bonding systems, and are used to suggest methods to enhance their nonlinearities.

Processing of high-resolution mass spectral data produces a large number of exact masses of ions for which empirical formulas must be determined. Various methods to obtain empirical formulas from the exact masses are in use, but all methods either require extensive data processing and manipulation or lengthy tables to determine possible formulas. By considering organic ions that contain up to three heteroatoms (N, O, exp 32 S, exp 34 S) using the Kendrick mass scale (CH sub 2 = 14.0000 mass units), a minimum number of tables, based only on the decimal portion of the mass, were formed. With these tables and the exact mass of the ion, the atomic composition of an ion (C/sub n/H/sub 2n+x/N/sub a/O/sub b/ exp 32 S/sub c/ exp 34 S/sub d/) can be determined. (ERA citation 03:043364)

Organ procurement organizations (OPOs) are not-for-profit organizations that facilitate organ donation and transplantation. An OPO may be an independent entity or part of a hospital. A previous Office of Inspector General review identified an issue related to how independent OPOs reported procurement of double lungs (the left and right lungs) for cost allocation purposes. The objectives of this review were (1) to determine whether OPOs nationwide reported lung statistics correctly by reporting double lungs as two organs instead of one organ in their fiscal year (FY) 2011 Medicare cost reports and, if they did not, (2) to estimate how much the Medicare program could have saved if OPOs had correctly reported double lungs.
