With the rapid growth of the economy in China, a large number of high grade highways are being constructed all over the country. When the freeways are constructed, the geologic engineering problem of slope would be fallen across inevitably. According to the geologic and engineering geologic conditions of Cheng Jia Yuan high slope of Lan Shang freeway in southern Shaanxi, 3D geological model is established by using finite difference software FLAC~(3D) and the six excavation processes are simulated. The stress-strain laws and the distribution of plastic zone are analyzed in process of excavation and after the formation of slope. At the same time, the safety coefficient of the slope is obtained through strength reduction method and the stability of the slope is evaluated. Based on the above results, technical scheme of the slope treatments are proposed.
