The issue of industrial structure is a prominent problem in the process of economic development. This paperis analyses the problems existing in the industrial structure from the point of view of theories of industrial economics, and brings up the idea that the primary content of the optimization of industrial restructuring is the selection of the leading industry. The high degree of association in automobile industry can drive the development of over 150 industrial sectors both upstream and downstream, and the development of the automobile industry is related to a sound cycle of national economy. This thesis, by applying the input-output analysis method, has made quantitative analysis on automobile industry, and studied into its driving effect to the associated industries, and presented itself as sample of study for optimization of industrial restructuring.

It can be declared that the adaptation of companies to the new industrial revolution, so called Industry 4.0, is not a choice but an issue of survival. The structure of business processes are changing with the newly introduced, radical and highly value adding technological drivers, such as internet of things, cloud computing, autonomous robots, augmented reality, cyber security system, etc. In the globalized trade markets none of the companies can close their eyes to this new era and ignore the required change in their operations. Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs) have 99.8% enterprise share of Turkey, and consequently have obvious contribution not only to the local economy but also to the global competition strength of the country. In that sense, catching up the fourth industrial revolution has to be the prior agenda of the SMEs, and also of the government institutions and the universities from the perspective of giving the required support. This study is the continuum of the broad research that is initiated in March 2018. The purpose is to identify the current situation of SMEs in Turkey with respect to their various implementations for Industry 4.0 transformation. A specifically designed questionnaire is applied to SME's with the support of KOSGEB (Small and Medium Sized Enterprises Development Organization), and in this stage of the research, the companies located in four major cities, namely Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir and Bursa, are analyzed and compared. The study aims to find out the level of awareness and readiness of SMEs in these cities and measure their Industry 4.0 scores. The final target is to support the Industry 4.0 implementations by defining the current situation and proposing suitable actions for adaptation based on varying results.

There have been few attempts to measure the markets for marine industries and their economic importance to nations. One of the problems is that of definition - what precisely constitutes a marine industry? The authors hope that their segmentation of the markets may be of use to researchers in other countries. This paper presents a case study, being the results of research carried out by the authors on the UK economy in 1996 using 1994 statistics. This shows that although the marine industries are not independent of each other, the summed total of turnovers are of the order of #46 billion (US$74bn). Jobs created, both direct and indirect are calculated at 782,000 (or 3.6% of total UK employment). The value added to the economy is estimated at #27.5 billion (US$44bn), that is 4.7% of UK GDP. Identified exports exceed #12 billion (US$19bn) which equates to 9% of UK exports. Five markets account for 94% of the summed turnover of the UK marine Industries. These are oil and gas, leisure, shipping, defence, fish, insurance, submarine telecoms. Marine related activity of government departments totals some #6.1 billion (US$9.8bn), that is 13% of the above, and generates over 83,000 jobs. The GDP of the UK marine industries are 68% greater than the electricity, gas and water supply industries (#15.4 bn) 55% greater than the manufacture of food and beverages (GDP #16.7 bn) nearly twice that of the financial companies and institutions (GDP #13.2 bn).

Study on spatial distribution of geospatial industry is essential for industrial layout. By choosing the typical industry index for each industrial branch, sorting, scoring and calculating by weight, this paper calculates out the value of spatial distribution index for each province which quantitatively reflects the status of spatial distribution of geospatial industry in China. According to the index value, five levels of provinces are divided: the leading provinces,.the well-developed provinces, the better developed provinces, the developing provinces and the under-developed provinces. Furthermore, the paper analyzes the spatial diffusion process of the geospatial technology in China, as well as the influence factors for each industry branches, and try to find out the reason of the current status of spatial distribution in China.

In the past 23 years, Romania has gone through a thorough and multi-facetted economic, institutional, legal, and ownership restructuring process, which has greatly reshaped the landscape of its economy, by changing the place and the role of certain economic branches, activities and companies, the drastic effects of which have also left a mark on its industrial structures. This article approaches the restructuring of the Romanian industry in respect of the number, size, and ownership of the companies, the changes in the value structure of industrial output by groups of products and branches, the course followed by physical production expressed in physical units, the number of employees, the salaries, and wage costs. Our analysis tackles the process of decomposition and recomposition of Romania's industrial structures from a national perspective, without ignoring the trends in the European industrial strategies and policies.
