Through use of a delay impulse function the theory of signal propagation in a lossless medium subject to delay control is detailed. A quasi-static delay modulation approximation is introduced to establish a simple analytical expression for the delay harmonic distortion. Experimental results for a two stage delay cascade provide good experimental justification for the presented theory.

In this paper, we present a novel on-chip path delay measurement circuit for efficiently detecting and debugging of delay faults in the fabricated integrated circuits. Several delay stages are employed in the proposed circuit, whose delay ranges are increased by a factor of two gradually from the last to the first delay stage. Thus, the proposed method can achieve a large delay measurement range with a small quantity of delay stages. Experimental results show that a significant reduction in both delay measurement time and area overhead can be obtained compared to the previous Vernier Delay Line based delay measurement schemes. In addition, by conducting delay compensation, the proposed method can achieve both improved delay measurement resolution and measurement accuracy.

In this article, data of stations distributed over China was used to calculate tropospheric delay. The result was compared with the tropospheric zenith delay calculated from model. The rules and Characteristic of tropospheric delay over China was analyzed from the aspect of altitude, climate, and change. The results showed that the tropospheric zenith total delay decreased from the coast to the central and western regions, the Tibetan plateau is minimum. Zenith wet delays computed from the models also show an absolute bias of over 20 mm with respect to that of sounding data. The standard deviation is more than 30 mm in the tropical monsoon zone.

This paper presents the numerical methods for modeling and simulation of fundamental continuous time-varying delays. Continuous time-varying delays are categorized as variable time delay and variable transport delay. These two fundamental delays are formulated and implemented as two Simulink® built-in blocks. The difference between these two delays are discussed. With these two fundamental time varying delays, physical system such as convey belt, control system with delayed control signals, delay differential equations, can be easily modeled and simulated.

This paper presents an algorithm to estimate delays at roadworks using historical and real time traffic data. Two types of delay are considered in the algorithm, queuing delay and the moving delay, of which queuing delay is the dominant part of the total delay at roadworks. A queuing delay analysis method is introduced. The algorithm uses a queuing analysis diagram, which takes demand and capacity as input, to estimate the expected queuing delay. Then an initial validation is carried out using operational traffic data from different types of sites. Demands and capacities estimated using historical profile data for different days of the week are used in the validation to test the sensitivity of delay estimation with respect to errors in demand and capacity estimation.
