One of the truly classic Royal Air Force biplane fighters of the late 1920s/early 1930s was the Bristol Bulldog. Short and compact with plenty of power, the Bulldog could put on thrilling airshows while it was also the standard home defense fighter - equipping ten of 13 RAF squadrons. Bulldog Mk. Ⅱ K2227 was built in 1930 and retained as company demonstrator with the civil registration G-ABBB. Grounded in 1936, it was gifted to the Science Museum and went on display in 1939 but during the war it was removed and hidden away to prevent destruction by air raid. In 1955, it was used for static scenes in the film Reach for the Sky. Restoration to flying status commenced in 1957 and was completed in June 1961. The plane was finished as K2227 of No. 51 Squadron. During low-level aerobatics at the Farnborough airshow on 13 February 1964, the engine failed at low-level and the aircraft was completely destroyed but the pilot survived. The wreck was dumped behind a hangar and over the years parts went missing. In 1992, the RAF Museum gathered every available part they could find and used what was left of the wreck to have SkySport Engineering rebuild the craft to static condition for display in the museum.

A direct interpretation of the term Internet of Things refers to the use of standard Internet protocols for the human-to-thing or thing-to-thing communication in embedded networks. The main aim of IoT is to create a virtual footprint of all the devices and people connected to it. It provides a new method of communication between all the things and the people, and also between the objects itself. IoT provides a different level of communication. This paper explains all the concepts of IoT and the mechanism in brief. The important technologies which enable IoT are RFID systems, Sensor networks and intelligence technologies. The potential applications of these technologies are reviewed and the major research issues are described.

Multi-resolution terrain models are an efficient approach to improve the speed of three-dimensional (3D) visualizations, especially for terrain visualization in Geographical Information Systems (GIS). As a further development to existing algorithms and models, a new model is proposed for the construction of multi-resolution terrain models in a 3D GIS. The new model represents multi-resolution terrains using two major methods for terrain representation: Triangulated Irregular Network (TIN) and regular grid (Grid). In this paper, first, the concepts and formal definitions of the new model are presented. Second, the methodology for constructing multi-resolution terrain models based on the new model is proposed. Third, the error of multi-resolution terrain models is analysed, and a set of rules is proposed to retain the important features (e.g. boundaries of man-made objects) within the multi-resolution terrain models. Finally, several experiments are undertaken to test the performance of the new model. The experimental results demonstrate that the new model can be applied to construct multi-resolution terrain models with good performance in terms of time cost and maintenance of the important features. Furthermore, a comparison with previous algorithms/models shows that the speed of rendering for 3D walking/flying through has been greatly improved by applying the new model.

Purpose The aim of this clinical review was to summarize the existing knowledge on fall risk associated with antidepressant use in older adults, describe underlying mechanisms, and assist clinicians in decision-making with regard to (de-) prescribing antidepressants in older persons. Methodology We comprehensively examined the literature based on a literature search in Pubmed and Google Scholar, and identified additional relevant articles from reference lists, with an emphasis on the most commonly prescribed drugs in depression in geriatric patients. We discuss use of antidepressants, potential fall-related side effects, and deprescribing of antidepressants in older persons. Results Untreated depression and antidepressant use both contribute to fall risk. Antidepressants are equally effective, but differ in fall-related side effect profile. They contribute to (or cause) falling through orthostatic hypotension, sedation/ impaired attention, hyponatremia, movement disorder and cardiac toxicity. Falling is an important driver of morbidity and mortality and, therefore, requires prevention. If clinical condition allows, withdrawal of antidepressants is recommended in fall-prone elderly persons. An important barrier is reluctance of prescribers to deprescribe antidepressants resulting from fear of withdrawal symptoms or disease relapse/recurrence, and the level of complexity of deprescribing antidepressants in older persons with multiple comorbidities and medications. Practical resources and algorithms are available that guide and assist clinicians in deprescribing antidepressants. Conclusions (De-) prescribing antidepressants in fall-prone older adults is often challenging, but detailed insight in fall-related side effect profile of the different antidepressants and a recently developed expert-based decision aid STOPPFalls assists prescribers in clinical decision-making.

Objectives: to investigate the effect of withdrawal of fall-risk-increasing-drugs (FRIDs) versus 'care as usual' on reducing falls in community-dwelling older fallers.
