The inconsistence of firewall/VPN(Virtual Private Network) rule makes a huge maintainable cost.With development of Multinational Company,SOHO office,E-government the number of firewalls/VPN will increase rapidly.Rule table in stand-alone or network will be increased in geometric series accordingly.Checking the consistence of rule table manually is inadequate.A formal approach can define semantic consistence,make a theoretic foundation of intelligent management about rule tables.In this paper,a kind of formalization of host rules and network ones for auto rule-validation based on SET theory were proporsed and a rule validation scheme was defined.The analysis results show the superior performance of the methods and demonstrate its potential for the intelligent management based on rule tables.

For a long time,scholars viewed the relationship between virtue and law from the perspective of dichotomy,or viewed the nature of ancient Chinese"law is punishment."Based on the proposition that virtue and law complement and harmonize with each other by pre-Qin Confucians,contemporary scholars propose the integration of virtue and law and the concept of"virtuous rule of law."From the perspective of historical development,law is a governance tool adapted to the complexity of society and the need to enrich the country and strengthen the army.From the logic of the development of political thoughts,law is a proposition to realize"impartiality"and oppose"partiality,"which has the spiritual essence of universality,objectivity,and impartiality.According to Xunzi,law is a system of love based on justice and principles;ritual rules have not only the function of social norms,but also the function of moral education.The aim of law,established,deliberated,and practiced by persons of character,is to achieve a kingly virtue-centered society full of rite,music,justice,order,harmony,and happiness.In Xunzi''s political philosophy,the idea of"virtuous rule of law"is finally realized.

Data mining is the process of discovering hidden structure or patterns in large quantities of data by usingkinds of analytic tools. The structure or patterns can help decision makers for advantageous actions. This paper intro-duces the concept of interestingness and reference rules ,and uses interestingness to estimate the information includedin rule,and then presents a method for mining exception rules while computing the interestingness according to thereference rules. Experiments compared with other methods show that the proposed method has the better effects.

A new algorithm for mining exceptional rules is presented, which creates a large itemset from a relatively small database and scans the whole database only one time to generate all exceptional rules. This algorithm is proved to be quick and effective through its application in a mushroom database.

The conventional complete association rule set was replaced by the least association rule set in data warehouse association rule mining process. The least association rule set should comply with two requirements: 1) it should be the minimal and the simplest association rule set; 2) its predictive power should in no way be weaker than that of the complete association rule set so that the precision of the association rule set analysis can be guaranteed.By adopting the least association rule set, the pruning of weak rules can be effectively carried out so as to greatly reduce the number of frequent itemset, and therefore improve the mining efficiency. Finally, based on the classical Apriori algorithm, the upward closure property of weak rules is utilized to develop a corresponding efficient algorithm.

Fatigue damage increases with the applied loading cycles in a cumulative manner and the material deteriorates with the corrosion time. A cumulative fatigue damage rule under the alternative of corrosion or cyclic loading was proposed. The specimens of aluminum alloy LY12-CZ soaked in corrosive liquid for different times were tested under the constant amplitude cyclic loading to obtain S-N curves. The test was carried out to verify the proposed cumulative fatigue damage rule under the different combinations among corrosion time,loading level, and the cycle numbers. It was shown that the predicted residual fatigue lives showed a good agreement with the experimental results and the proposed rule was simple and can be easily adopted.

Rough set theory has proved to be a useful tool for rule induction. But, the theory based on indiscernibility relation or similarity relation cannot induce rules from decision tables with criteria. Greco et al have proposed a new rough set approach based on dominance relation to handle the problems. In this paper, the concept of dominance matrix is put forward and the dominance function is constructed to compute the minimal decision rules that are more general and applicable than the ones induced by the classical rough set theory. In addition, the methodology of simplification is presented to eliminate the redundancy in the rule set.
