A quantifica??o da radia??o solar é de suma importancia, pois é a principal fonte de energia para os processos de aquecimento ou resfriamento da superfície terrestre e do ar, para a evapotranspira??o e para o metabolismo das plantas e animais. Os equipamentos denominados de saldo radi?metros permitem mensurar o saldo de radia??o, porém s?o limitados por fornecerem medidas pontuais. Diante disso, dados de sensoriamento remoto aparecem como ferramenta para fornecer estimativas distribuídas espacialmente. O objetivo do presente estudo foi estimar o saldo de radia??o por meio de técnicas de sensoriamento remoto e comparar com estimativas de dados de uma esta??o de superfície. O estudo foi realizado no Parque Nacional de S?o Joaquim para o dia 30 de janeiro de 2014. Foram utilizadas: uma imagem do Satélite Landsat 8, modelo digital do terreno e dados meteorológicos obtidos em uma esta??o de superfície. O saldo de radia??o obtido utilizando a imagem de satélite seguiu a metodologia do SEBAL e o saldo de radia??o para a esta??o de superfície resultou da Equa??o de Brunt. Os maiores valores do saldo de radia??o foram encontrados nas classes de água e floresta, enquanto os menores valores foram obtidos em locais de solo exposto e agricultura.

When modeling the taper and volume, it is desired that the volume estimates obtained by using these two methods are compatible, where the total stem volume estimates shall not differ when using a total volume equation and the volume calculated by integrating the taper equation. There are several of such systems proposed in the literature, in which modifications in the volume and taper models were made to obtain compatible systems. This paper introduces an idea to obtain compatibility in a simpler way, without the need to modify the volume and taper models. Thus, the overall objective of this study was to develop and present a procedure to obtain compatibility between the Spurr function volume and the Kozak’s taper function and quintic polynomial volumes for Acacia mearnsii De Wild trees and compare the results to the traditional method of the same system of equations. The procedures proposed were applied on data on the Acacia mearnsii De Wild (black wattle) species in the towns of Cristal, Piratini, and Encruzilhada in the south of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The data set included 343 trees ranging from 5 to 10.75 years of age. The quality of the fitting for the volume and taper equations fitted using procedures 1 and 2 is similar, and both are compatible. The system of equations presented in procedure 2 is simpler to be applied when compared to procedure 1.

O presente trabalho teve como objetivo utilizar equa??es de predi??o para estimar o peso vivo de caprinos da ra?a Canindé mediante medidas morfométricas de natureza quantitativa. Foram avaliadas 347 fêmeas adultas da ra?a Canindé, provenientes de diferentes estados na regi?o Nordeste do Brasil. Os animais foram pesados e, após as pesagens, com o auxilio de uma fita métrica foram tomadas medidas de altura da cernelha (AC), comprimento do corpo (CC) e perímetro torácico (PT). Foram observadas correla??es significativas entre o peso e todas as variáveis avaliadas. A variável melhor correlacionada com o peso foi o PT (0,69). Os modelos polinomiais foram os que apresentaram o melhor ajuste, com maior precis?o para aquele com três variáveis. A metodologia utilizada mostrou-se adequada para predizer o peso de fêmeas adultas da ra?a Canindé para as condi??es em que o trabalho foi conduzido.

A consistência biológica, necessária ao ajustar modelos para estimar a biomassa total e dos componentes acima do solo, muitas vezes é negligenciada por diversos pesquisadores. Modelos matemáticos para estimar biomassa que n?o consideram a rela??o de dependência existente entre os componentes da árvore e o total ainda s?o poucos estudados em florestas nativas, sobretudo no bioma Cerrado. Dessa forma, este trabalho objetivou comparar os estimadores de biomassa acima do solo por dois métodos diferentes, ajuste independente e simultaneo de equa??es. Dados de biomassa acima do solo para os componentes e total foram coletados, e ent?o, modelos matemáticos para estimar a biomassa total e dos componentes foram ajustados independentemente pelo método dos mínimos quadrados ordinários e simultaneamente pelo método de regress?o n?o linear aparentemente n?o relacionadas. Foi verificada a consistência biológica das equa??es nos dois métodos, além da presen?a de heteroscedasticidade, que quando observada, tiveram seus reajustes realizados após terem os pesos de seus coeficientes calculados pela estrutura de variancia. O sistema de equa??es ajustadas simultaneamente apresentou consistência biológica e intervalos de predi??es menores quando comparados ao ajuste independente de equa??es, apesar de demonstrarem parametros estatísticos semelhantes. A fim de assegurar a aditividade e precis?o, modelos de biomassa dos componentes e total, para a fitofisionomia Parque Cerrado, devem ser estimados por meio de sistemas de equa??es.

The fracture mechanics of cortical bone has received much attention in biomedical engineering. It is a fundamental question how the material constants and the geometric parameters of the cortical bone affect the fracture behavior of the cortical bone. In this work, the plane problem for cortical bone with a microcrack located in the interstitial tissue under tensile loading was considered. Using the solution for the continuously distributed edge dislocations as Green ??s functions, the problem was formulated as singular integral equations with Cauchy kernels. The numerical results suggest that a soft osteon promotes microcrack propagation, while a stiff osteon repels it, but the interaction effect between the microcrack and the osteon is limited near the osteon. This study not only sheds light on the fracture mechanics behavior of cortical bone but also offers inspiration for the design of bioinspired materials in biomedical engineering.

We prove a couple of local asymptotic stability results for a hybrid functional nonlinear fractional integral equations under weaker Lipschitz and compactness type conditions. It is shown that comparable solutions of the considered hybrid functional nonlinear fractional integral equation are uniformly locally ultimately attractive and asymptotically stable on unbounded intervals of real line. We claim that our results are new and rely on ameasure theoretic fixed point theorem of Dhage (2014).
