The upgraded CDF detector is now collecting data with the aim of integrating 2 fb~(-1) by year 2005. The pursued B physics program is very appealing. CDF will provide measurements of various CP violating and B mixing parameters which both complement and extend B-factories measurements. In addition there is a variety of spectroscopy measurements on B_s and heavier B hadrons which are currently accessible only at the Tevatron. In this talk we give a description of the new CDF tools available for B physics, we discuss the preliminary results obtained with the first 7D pb~(-1) of data, and we highlight Run II B physics prospects.

We present a measurement of the ratio of the B_s~0 meson lifetime, in the flavor-specific decay to D_s~+π~-, to that of the B~0 meson. The pp collision data used correspond to an integrated luminosity of 1 fb~(-1), collected with the LHCb detector, at a center-of-mass energy of 7 TeV. Combining our measured value of 1.010 ± 0.010 ± 0.008 for this ratio with the known B~0 lifetime, we determine the flavor-specific B_s~0 lifetime to be τ(B_s~0) = 1.535 ± 0.015 ± 0.014 ps, where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. This is the most precise measurement to date, and is consistent with previous measurements and theoretical predictions.

An overview of more than 25 yeaxs of the Tevatron Collider program at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory in Batavia, near Chicago, Illinois, USA, is presented. The physics goals of the program itself, the Tevatron accelerator design characteristics and some of its achievements are described. A selected set of the past and ongoing physics analyses and measurements performed by CDF and DO collaborations are summarized. Also, in view of the modified plans and schedule of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN, the future of the Tevatron program is discussed.

A simultaneous unbinned likelihood fit to the J/ψ + μ invariant mass and lifetime distributions yields a signal of 881 ± 80(stat) candidates and a lifetime measurement of (τ)(B_c~±) = 0.448_(-0.036)~(+0.038)(stat) ± 0.032(syst) ps.

We report the observation of the doubly strange b baryon Ω_b~- in the decay channel Ω_b~- → J/ψΩ~- , with J/ψ → μ~+μ~- and Ω~-→ ΛK~- →(pπ~-)K~-, in pp collisions at s~(1/2) = 1.96 TeV. Using approximately 1.3 fb~(-1) of data collected with the DO detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider, we observe 17.8 ± 4.9(stat) ± 0.8(syst) Ω_b~- signal events at a mass of 6.165 ± 0.010(stat) ± 0.013(syst) GeV. The significance of the observed signal is 5.4σ, corresponding to a probability of 6.7 × 10~(-8) of it arising from a background fluctuation.

The decays B_s~o→D_s~((*) +)D_s~((*)-) are reconstructed in a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 6.8 fb~(-1) collected by the CDF Ⅱ detector at the Tevatron pp collider. All decay modes are observed with a significance of more than 10σ, and we measure the B_s~o production rate times B_s~o → D_s~((*) +)D_s~((*)-) branching ratios relative to the normalization mode B~o → D_s~+D~-to be 0.183 ± 0.021 ± 0.017 for B_s~o → D_s~+D_s~-, 0.424 ± 0.046 ± 0.035 for B_s~o → D_s~(*±)D_s~+, 0.654 ± 0.072 ± 0.065 for B_s~o → D_s~(*+)D_s~(*-), and 1.261 ±0.095 ±0.112 for the inclusive decay B_s~o→ D_s~((*)+)_s~((*)~), where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic. These results are the most precise single measurements to date and provide important constraints for indirect searches for nonstandard model physics in D_s~o mixing.

We present measurements of the linear polarization amplitudes and the strong relative phases that describe the flavor-untagged decays B_d~0 →J/ΨK~(*0) and B_s~0→J/ΨKφ in the transversity basis. We also measure the mean lifetime τ_s of the B_s~0 mass eigenstates and the lifetime ratio τ_s/τ_d. The analyses are based on approximately 2.8 fb~-1 of data recorded with the DO detector. From our measurements of the angular parameters we conclude that there is no evidence for a deviation from flavor SU(3) symmetry for these decays and that the factorization assumption is not valid for the B_d~0 → J/ΨK~(*0)decay.
