With the rapid development of logistics in China these years, the competition between enterprises is becoming more and more intense and the quality of logistics service is very essential to help the company survive in the competition. In order to improve the quality of logistics service, this paper uses QFD to improve the quality logistics service. Firstly, we analyze the characteristics of the logistics service; then introduce the use of QFD process and the construction process of its basic tool House of Quality (HoQ); finally, we set an express delivery company in Langfang as an example to introduce the use of QFD in improving the quality of logistics and it has achieved remarkable re-sults.

Purpose - The purpose of this paper is to introduce a solution to the problem of changing priorities of customer needs (CNs) in quality function deployment (QFD). Customer preferences and priorities are not very stable and they may change before products are ready for the market. Therefore, finding CNs accurately is a key to reach a higher level of customer satisfaction through improving products. Design/methodology/approach - In the proposed model, a Markov chain is employed to model the changing priorities of CNs. The Markov chain finds a pattern of future CNs, the main inputs of QFD. The QFD method is applied to translate CNs into product requirements (PRs) and the PRs into suppliers' qualifications. The analytic network process (ANP) is attached to QFD to ensure that all the relations among the elements, inner and outer, are taken into consideration during the translation process. Thus, CNs are received and adjusted by a Markov chain and then suppliers are ranked by employing an ANP-QFD approach.Findings - The application of Markov chains for an ANP-QFD model develops an adequate method of finding a pattern of changing priorities of CNs. This pattern enables the ANP-QFD method to work independent of the initial CNs, and originates a Markovain ANP-QFD.Originality/value - This study originates a stochastic ANP-QFD model. There have been several papers employing various tools and techniques such as the ANP or analytic hierarchy process for QFD to find accurate relations between PRs and CNs. While there are a few papers applying Markov chains to predict the future of the relations of QFD, there is no study which traces the changes in priorities of the CNs during the improvement process. This is addressed by applying a Markovian ANP-QFD. The model is validated through a case study.

Due to technological innovations and changing customer demand, many firms realize that getting high-quality products to customers in a timely manner is crucial for their survival in the competitive market. Product development process is a complex managerial process, which involves multifunctional groups with different perspectives. Quality function deployment (QFD) is a new product development process that stresses cross-functional integration and ensures quality at each stage of the product development and the production process. Quality function deployment is a planning methodology for translating customer needs into quality characteristics and the improved quality of an existing product.
The objective of this article is to maximize customer satisfaction for a fork assembly in an automobile spares manufacturing industry using two different approaches, namely traditional QFD (crisp approach) and fuzzy triangular methods. The fuzzy approach has been developed to address the ambiguity in technical characteristics. Finally, these two approaches have been compared to highlight which applies better for the case study.

QFD method is a method in the area of quality management. In this publication, it has been modified and used in environmental management. As an example, ecologically modiefied QFD was implemented for Bedzin district in Poland. Implementing this method in a town allows to select activities that are crucial for fulfilling ecological requirements and it leads to the improvement of the life quality of the citizens.

Quality is the link that attracts customers. The Technical Institutes are processor which introduces quality products (technocrats) in the market. Changing scenario has compelled for Quality improvement in the institutes and this can be achieved only by improving conditions prevailing in the institutes. Traditional methods of designing disregard the voice of customers as well as disregard the competition. Thus lacking in commitment of improvement. Improvement in the practical knowledge imparted through improving quality assurance of labs which satisfy the students. Improvement in Teaching staff so that pure knowledge reaches to passing out generation. To achieve the above tasks in the present work various quality tools such as QFD, POKA YOKE, CONCURRENT ENGINERRING, QUALITY CIRCLES, SMALL AUTONOMUS GROUP CONCEPT, KAIZEN APPROACH have been used. Conversion of unspoken need of customer is the basic requirement. The work stresses on improvement of quality of institute through improving quality of labs, teaching staff especially use of POKA YOKE for mistake proofing .i.e. intake of students. Thus by using the above mentioned quality tools satisfaction of customer is ultimately achieved.

Quality of technical education is its ability to produce a steady flow of people with high intelligence and commitment to learning that will continue the process of transmission and advancement of knowledge. Quality Function Deployment (QFD) is one of the Total Quality Management (TQM) techniques which can be applied for process and design improvement. This study uses QFD as a tool for quality improvement and benchmarking in Technical Institutions . The study is based on primary data collected from thirty students which is considered as customers and thirty teachers, considered as technical describers from six different branches of a technical institute. A self designed questionnaire was used for data collection. The data was analyzed using the techniques of QFD on a technical institute. On the basis of these feedback, a house of quality is developed, which highlighted the major concerned areas of quality improvements in teaching and also highlighted some benchmarks where other institutions are more productive. Quality Function Deployment (QFD) is one of the Total Quality Management (TQM) techniques which can be applied for process and design improvement. This paper develops a framework for quality in an educational institute on the basis of literature review. A relationship matrix is developed between five identified groups of 'Dimensions of Quality' and twelve sets of 'Enablers' in an educational institute. It further outlines a QFD model based on interrelationship and intra relationship among dimensions of Quality, Enablers and customers .The indices developed based on the QFD matrix are utilized for quality planning and monitoring. The procedure is equally important for different types of technical institutes for self analysis, enhancing effectiveness and generating competitiveness.

Quality function deployment (QFD) provides a specific approach for ensuring quality throughout each stage of the product development. Since the focus of QFD is placed on the early stage of product development, the uncertainty in the input information of QFD is inevitable. If the uncertainty is neglected, the QFD analysis results can be misleading. This paper proposes an extended version of the QFD methodology, called Robust QFD, which is capable of considering the uncertainty of the input information and the resulting variability of the output. The proposed framework aims to model, analyze, and dampen the effects of the uncertainty and variability in a systematic manner. The proposed framework is demonstrated through a case study on the ADSL-based high-speed Internet service.

This paper presents the development and an application of a quality function deployment (QFD)-based methodology that will lead to increased student satisfaction with their educational experience in a redesigned course. The key elements of the approach are to obtain and categorize attributes that would constitute a good course, and an effective instructor from the students' point of view. Mapping these attributes to established pedagogies found in the literature, coupled with continuous assessment and refinement ensures that there is no mismatch between student and faculty expectations. The approach was successfully implemented in a first-year engineering design course that had previously undergone a major revision in content and delivery, which resulted in student dissatisfaction and very poor student evaluations at semester's end. Maintaining the new content, the QFD-based approach helped significantly increase student satisfaction with the course.

Consumers are confused about the benefits of using smart watches due to the various insignificant functionalities included and the unclear value propositions promoted by smart watch manufacturers. In order to improve the quality of products and to provide features that can satisfy consumers’ needs, technicians must understand the expectations of consumers. This paper recommends the use of quality function deployment (QFD), a method that integrates consumers’ dynamic requirements with product designs, which can be represented using a House of Quality (HoQ) matrix diagram. Here, the unmet and uncovered needs of consumers relating to the smart watch are analyzed extensively using a questionnaire-based survey. The opinions of consumers and technicians are then examined, and a HoQ diagram is constructed to evaluate the relationship between the design attributes of smart watch and its technical attributes. Finally, the attributes that need to be improved are listed in a suggested order of priority.
