Argentina has the seventh-largest retail market in Latin America. However, retail sales in US dollar terms, which amounted to US$111.7bn in 2012, have eroded over the past decade, to an estimated US$41.9bn in 2022 amid deteriorating domestic economic conditions. Meanwhile, sales growth in peso terms has surged, but this reflects high inflation and currency depreciation.
