Basmati 370 and Basmati 385 were planted on 5 or 19 July or 2 August. Following initial submergence for 2 weeks, plants were irrigated 2 or 3 days after disappearanceof ponded water. Basmati 385 gave significantly higher yields than Basmati 370. Planting on 19 July gave significantly higher yields than the other dates. Under high rainfall in 1993 there was no significant difference between irrigation treatments, while under low rainfall in 1994, more frequent irrigation gave significantly higher yield. 收起
