Nevertheless, it might not be easy t... 展开 For the solar photovoltaic (PV) cell/module, the circuit parameters must be accurately calculated from the characteristics and/or a collection of data set for simulations and PV system control. Nevertheless, it might not be easy to access experimental data or reliable characteristic data of a PV panel. An alternative method is, therefore, to extract the parameters of the PV cell/module by using the three critical points in voltage-current (V-I) characteristics. This method consists in formulating and solving typical non-linear expressions based on an assumed model of the PV module. In this paper, an improved differential evolution methodology on the issue of estimation of the PV module parameters is used by enforcing the double-diode model (DDM) and three-diode model (TDM) using the manufacturer's datasheet details. To minimize the error at three key points, an improved differential evolutionary algorithm (IDEA) is proposed. The proposed IDEA helps to develop solutions that generate about zero error in such three crucial points. An algorithm optimizes all the parameters of the PV cell without assuming or intuiting any parameter. A collection of the best solution, i.e., parameters are obtained from several individual runs for the PV module.
