The disease was characterized by emaciation, letharginess, body temperature (100.4°F), rapid and increased heartbeat and tachypnoea; normal TLC (5370 per mm~3), absolute neutrophil count (4350 per mm~3), lymphopenia (752 per mm~3) and small amoeboid, oval or rounded parasites of varying sizes in erythrocytes resembling Babesiafelis. Electrocardiogram revealed sinus tachycardia. Recovery was uneventful with primaquine phosphate @ 0.5 mg kg~(-1) body weight orally repeated once after seven days and cyproheptadine. 收起
