Sailors are required to perform tasks throughout the day to maintain operational effectiveness of their systems. The relationship between these tasks and how the completion of a previous task will affect the outcome of the next, needs to be addressed. The increase on the complexity of a task and number of tasks assigned, coupled with maximum utilization of available man-hours, can lead to a higher probability of human error. This is especially true today as there is an increase in demand on an individual Sailor's task-load due to the greater complexity of naval systems. Additionally, this paper will discuss the need to consider the cognitive and physical nature of tasks to analyze how human error can be identified and subsequently reduced. 收起
