Among the bases and solvents tested, KOH and ethanol were the most effective. The tetraimidazolium salt exhibited excellent activity in Suzuki coupling reactions at room temperature over 1 h. The results indicate that catalytic activities are dependent on the collective effect of the porphyrin core and the NHC. The new porphyrin-based imidazolium salt shows promise as a supermolecular skeleton for the construction of highly active catalysts. 收起
